1. Your Writing is Yours

Everything you write in WriteWithStoryline belongs to you — 100%. We do not claim any ownership, license, or rights to your content. We will never sell, share, or license your writing to any third party.

2. We Never Train AI on Your Writing

Your manuscripts, notes, and ideas are never used to train AI models — not ours, not our providers'. When you use AI features, your text is sent to Anthropic's API solely to generate your requested output. Under Anthropic's standard API terms, content submitted via the API is not used for model training.

We cannot independently audit or guarantee the internal practices of third-party providers beyond what their published policies state. We choose providers with strong privacy commitments and review those commitments regularly.

3. Information We Collect

We collect only what's necessary to provide the service:

• Account information — your email address and name, provided through Clerk authentication.
• Your writing — stored in our database so you can access it from any device.
• Usage data — AI token usage per feature, used only to enforce your plan limits.
• Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and improve the WriteWithStoryline service
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To send transactional emails (receipts, account notices, password resets)
• To enforce fair usage limits on AI features

We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent. We do not sell your data. Ever.

5. Third-Party Services

• Clerk — authentication and account management
• Stripe — payment processing
• Anthropic — AI writing features
• Railway / Vercel — infrastructure and hosting

6. Data Retention

• Active accounts: Your data is stored for as long as your account is active.
• Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, your writing and personal data are permanently deleted within 30 days.
• Legal holds: In some cases, we may be required to retain certain data longer to comply with legal obligations.

7. Data Security

Your data is stored in encrypted databases and transmitted over HTTPS. We use access controls to limit who can interact with our systems and follow industry-standard security practices.

8. Your Rights

• Export all your data at any time from Settings
• Delete your account and all associated data permanently
• Request a copy of your data by emailing privacy@writewithstoryline.com

9. Age Restrictions

WriteWithStoryline is not intended for users under the age of 13.

10. International Users

WriteWithStoryline is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your data will be processed and stored in the U.S.

11. Legal Disclosure

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or a valid government request.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email.
